| Providing Constant Hydraulic Pressure on Fluid Power Units/Skids |
A Fluid Power Unit system is a hydraulic power
source that is used to drive rams and pistons in
various industrial fabrication processes. The system
consists of a structure, called a skid when portable,
that includes a fluid power pump, a pressure
transmitter, a liquid level control with optional
temperature sensor, a flow switch or transmitter, a
control valve or variable frequency drive, a
controller, a reservoir tank, and interconnecting
piping or hoses. These key components work as a
system to maintain a constant hydraulic pressure as
hydraulic power is used.
Automation Products Group, Inc.'s products are used in fluid power
units to monitor the fluid power pump pressure, the
reservoir tank level, and fluid flows from tank to discharge.
The sensor signal transmits to the system
controller. Typically the controller is a
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that controls
the pumps in the system by modulating the pump
output to maintain a constant hydraulic pressure.
